Leah Sanchez joined Merit in July 2024 as Senior Counsel. She brings eight years of expertise in commercial real estate law, having most recently served as a Commercial Real Estate Attorney at Jackson Walker, where she and I first worked together.
At Jackson Walker, Leah represented national clients in their expansions across Texas through Ground and Built-to-Suit Leases. She has also represented national retailers in acquisitions, dispositions, and other types of leases, and she and I worked on many interesting acquisitions and development deals across product types. Leah has a strong background in several areas of real estate, including raw land, retail, mixed-use, industrial, and multi-family.
Prior to Jackson Walker, she worked as a Commercial Real Estate Attorney at Glenn Rogers in Austin, where she represented owners and operators of skilled nursing facilities in the acquisition and disposition of existing nursing facilities and raw land for the development of new nursing facilities.
Leah is a licensed attorney with the State Bar of Texas and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Baylor Law School.
